  2. I am searching for a John HALEwho moved to Wokingham, Berkshire, in 1729. He married Rose SKYE in Wokingham on 2 October 1729, and is recorded as being from the parish of Henley-On-Thames in Oxon. However, after 13 years of searching I still cannot find John. I have searched the Henley registers but cannot find him, so I do not think that he was born in Henley. Does anyone have a John HALE who fits the bill, or have a known HALE association with Wokingham in the early 1700s?Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  4. I am trying to find any infomation on the family of SAMUEL HOOPER HALE. He was born in ESSEX ,but this does vary, in about 1815 ,although his death certificate states 1823. He was married to SUSAN ANN BOWLES who was born in Wiltshire about 1823. I have been unable to find their marriage but according to census they were already married in 1851 and living in Sussex. In the 1841 census at the address were SAMUEL and SUSAN HALE are living in 1851,there is a JOSEPH HALE b1815 Sussex and I am wondering if it is possible that this is SAMUEL'S brother. Their first child was born in SOUTHAMPTON in 1854 but they lived in SURREY after then. Does anyone have any HALES in their tree with the middle name HOOPER ? This seems to have been given to most of their children. I have hit a very large brick wall and any help would be gratefully appreciated. I live in North Wales

  5. My name is Steven Richard Virtue from Liverpool, and I am looking for any information about ancestors of James Hale (born 1804),my father’s maternal g/g/grandfather. He married Ellen (born 1803) and they had 9(?) children ,5 of whom died in childhood. I have the family bible dated 1836, which shows some of the names and d.o.b of the children. James was a blacksmith by trade, I think, and my father’s grandfather had his own smithy in Liverpool. Any help greatly appreciated.
