  1. I am the Grandson of JOHN HALE was born in 1864 in Lower Gornal (now in the West Midlands). My Grandfather moved (possibly via Chesterfield) to Derby at some time prior to 1899 when he left for the Boer War. Grandfather had married ADA BRAIN from near Stratford on Avon prior to this and family settled in Derby. It would appear that the Hale name is very rare here in Derby, but much more common in the region my family came from. Grandfather's brother settled in Tibshelf, approx. 20 miles north of Derby. I would very much like to know more about my branch of the Hale family.

  4. Livinig in South Wales in the UK, I am the geat grandaughter of ROBERT HALE born in 1877 in Machen, he was married to ANNIE ROOM in 1900. They had four sons, EDMUND, ROBERT, WILLIAM and GEORGE and an adopted son SYDNEY(DAVEY) HALE. ROBERT and ANNIE had four children, PERCY, GERT, CLIFF, and MABLE, Mabel was 100 years old on 1st June 2007. They all lived in Bedwas, Monmouth. I think SID HALE (Bedwas) had family who moved to New Zealand. I also live in Bedwas, Monmouth. It would be great to gather more information to addd to my family tree. I have managed to research as far back as my great great grandfather ROBERT HALE born in1841 in Winterburn. , Glos.

  5. Looking for information on ancestors of JAMES HALE of Wantage, Berks, married Elizabeth Lovegrove c.1878/9.
    The Lovegroves are well documented but Hale info seems very thin. James was a carpenter and in 1901 census lived at Elm Cottage, Grove St, Wantage, Berks. Any information about James and his family would be welcomed.

  6. My great grand father Joseph Hale 1875-1960 had 2 daughters. Amy 1901, my grandmother and Katie Hale1899, her sister. Amy married my grandad Albert John Probert, Pontypool. Amy died 1/01/1970, buried in Pontypool cemetry.

  8. The earliest HALE in my family is Charles HALE b1793 in Sherborne Gloucestershire. His parents may have been John HALE b1763 - Glos? and Esther MORGAN - Glos?. Charles had a large family and his wife - don't know anything abut her - died at some point in the 2 years before 1841 as he has a 2 year old daughter, Ann. In 1841, the family has moved to Bamford in Oxfordshire; descendants settled in Wantage, Berks- John b1825, and Oxford - Harriet Green. Any early information on the family would be welcomed.   10. My Hale family started with JAMES who married GWENLLIAN (Gwendolin) DAVIES 27.11.1819 Monmouth, Wales. The eldest son THOMAS was my great great grandfather. He was born 1822 Blaenavon (My house has this name) and married HARRIET TEAKLE 1.2.1846

  12. Before I was adopted my name was Oberon Haleand my natural father was called Jason Hale, and had sisters named June, Jacklin and Jenefer.
    My natural brother is called Orion Hale and my natural sister is called Oona Hale

    Jason was married to Janice Pugsly. Both are now dead

    I am looking for any information on Maria Hale b1820 approx East Dean Gloucestershire. She Married my gggrandfather’s brother Edmund Jones at St Briavels Gloucestershire on 20th Oct 1838. I think she must of died quite young as Edmund remarried in 1858 to Mary Ann Bright.
