Yet another researcher in the USA LELAND HALE says: " I am a direct descendant of THOMAS HALE who was buried at Watton-at-stone, Hertfordshire, England on October 19, 1630. He married Joan Kirby on 19 October 1601. We have been unable to find his father or anything of his birth. His son THOMAS immigrated to the colonies in 1637. JAMES EVANS in ABERGAVENNY, WALES would like to find out more about the entry in the Gloucester County Gaol Register of 24 March 1853 of HANNAH HALE, aged 24 of Ruardean Parish, a collier's Wife. He was killed in Belgium July 17 1917 aged 36 and the War Graves Comm. list him as the son of JESSE and JULIA HALE and a native of Bath. According to the IGI J & J married in 1874 in Bath. Also on the IGI J & J have three children are listed also b. Bath. The family does not show in the 1881 census xcript. Nor have I located THOMAS in the BDM lists.
