RootsWeb list for Blaenau Gwent

with a genealogical interest in the areas of Nantyglo, Blaina, Brynmawr,
Tredegar, Abertillery, and Llanhilleth in the county of Monmouthshire (Gwent),
Great Britain. You must be a subscriber to post to the list. To subscribe send

message to blaenaugwent-l-request@rootsweb.com

(digest mode).
ORDERING CERTIFICATES ON THE WEB
Check out the web site GRO They tell you all about ordering birth, death or marriage certificates from July 1, 1837 up to present day. If you have the index number for the required certificate (can get them from LDS family history centres, although they don't usually list the death index numbers), ie Volume and page number, you can order by credit card (£8 per certificate required). If you can't provide the reference number, the ONS will do a look up of 1 year either side of the year you give them. The cost in total is then £11 per certificate that they do. They will post first class to you within 28 days.
