This particularly poignant gravestone is found in the churchyard at Rodney Stoke, Somerset. The inscription reads: In loving memory of SILVESTER HALE of Rodney Stoke who died Nov 4th 1911 Aged 62 years Also of HESTER, wife of the above, who died May 20th 1926, Aged 73 years. Also JOHN JAMES, who died Oct 30th 1874, Aged 2 years. Also TOM, who died Jan 10th 1882(?)Aged 4 years.. Also PERCY, who died Jan 13th 1882 (?) Aged 5 years Also REGINALD, WHO WENT DOWN ON THE "TITANIC" April 15th 1912 - Aged 40 years Sons of the above. (Similar stones and inscriptions welcome.) |
